Show Married 40 Years; Event Celebrated Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Lund, longtime long-time residents of Gunnison Valley, and well and popularly known, celebrated cele-brated their 40th wedding anniversary Friday afternoon and evening of last week. The affair was arranged by the sons and daughters and the celebration celebra-tion proved a charming success and honor was bestowed upon the "bride and groom" of forty years ago. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sorenson was the scene of the first event of the celebration. Early Friday Fri-day afternoon a big banquet was served, some fifty or more enjoying the dainty viands, and the feast lasted last-ed from 2 o'clock until 5:30. When well-wishes for the honored guests had been extended and the pair presented pre-sented with gifts, bespeaking the high esteem and respect, the group motored to Clarion where other festivities fes-tivities were held. The Clarion chapel had been arranged for a dancing party, par-ty, and when the music had started it was the signal for a good time, and everyone present made merry. Old-time music, as well as some of the modern dance tunes, was furnished furnish-ed and the fun was extended until 11:30, when a dainty luncheon was served. The festivities were concluded near 12 midnight and the honored couple, as well as the guests, were i loud in their praise of the splendid i time afforded. Many guests from outside points were present, and included immediate members of the family. The guests from Salt Lake were Mr. and Mr3. Coy Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. .E. H. : McCallem, Mrs. George Bauer, Mrs. L. W. Sanders, and Elmo Lund, all ; of Salt Lake. i |
