Show Victims of Accidents Making Recoveries Two accidents, painful but not necessarily serious, held two Gunnison Gunni-son residents in their homes for several sev-eral days. Lawrence Edwards, 18-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Edwards, had an encounter with a horse, with the result that he was forced to his bed for about a week. Lawrence was handling a team of horses hitched to a wagon at the Edwards Ed-wards home. In some manner the j bridle rein got caught on the tongue of the wagon and when Edwards at-! at-! tempted to loosen the strap, the horse ' made a lunge at the boy, one hoof I striking the lad squarely in the mouth. A deep gash, requiring a stitch, was inflicted on the lip, and bes:des a front tooth was knocked out. The impact of the horse against the boy sent the latter sprawling to the ground and he was "out" for a few I nv'nutes. Lawrence has recovered sufficiently suf-ficiently now to be up and about. Thursday of last week, Owen Jensen, Jen-sen, 32 years old, suffered a broken collar bone and is confined to his home where he is convalescing. Jensen Jen-sen was endeavoring to make some repair work on his automobile and it was necessary to raise the rear end of the machine. He succeeded in adjusting ad-justing one side of the car and was in the act of raising the other when he slipped and lost his balance. The ; heavy weight of the car and the in-'. in-'. ability to steady himself resulted in , the man suffering the broken bone. ( Mr. Jensen is getting along as well as could be expected and if no complications com-plications arise he will soon be able to be about his work, that of butchering. butch-ering. i |
