Show Former Resident Drowned at Nephi Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Duffin left hurriedly hur-riedly for Nephi Wednesday morning, in answer to a message announcing the death by drowning of Mrs. Duf-fin's Duf-fin's son, Henry Williams, by a former for-mer marriage. Announcement of the .':udden death of her son, Mrs. Duffin was prostrated and it was some time before she became composed so she could hurry to the death bed. Mr. Williams, a mechanic at Nephi, in company with Joseph Willis, was fishing in Burriston pond, six mih'.s north of Nephi, Tuesday evening. They were riding in a leaky boat, dispatches dis-patches stated, and when the boat fili-ed fili-ed with water it capsized, throwing both men into the deep water. Willis was able to reach the shore in safety, and in looking for Williams he found that his companion had sunk, as he was not in sight. Willis immediately gave the alarm and searching crews began dragging the pond. Williams' body was recovered two hours later, and was removed to Nephi. At one time he resided re-sided at Fayette. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred S. Williams, and seven children, child-ren, Lamar, Wesley, Norda, Robert, Gerald, Darwin and Morgan. His mother, mo-ther, residing in Gunnison, and three brothers living at Mills, are also left as survivors. |
