Show Tentative Program Announced for Fair Arrangements are fast being completed com-pleted for the Sanpete county fair, to be held September 8, 9 and 10, at Manti, according to Wm. McFarlane, publicity director for the association, and who visited Gunnison Tuesday afternoon. af-ternoon. Different committees are putting forth every effort to make the 1932 fair meet a success, and in the face of the depression indications point to a big time. Crops have never been better and the horticultural department de-partment will be the scene of many displays from all parts of the county. Stock, poultry and fine horses will also prove added features. The three-day three-day program, as tentatively planned, will be as follows: First day Washington Bicentennial Bicenten-nial parade, with floats from every city in the county. Annual poultry day for all Sanpete poultrymen and their families. Two bands from Ephraim will furnish music for this day. The day's events will conclude with five fast horse races Second day Horse pulling contests, in which 15 teams from all sections of the county will be seen in elimination elimina-tion contests at 10 a. m. Some of Utah's national representatives represen-tatives will be . present to give talks, and twelve musical acts in dancing and singing from the county's best talent will be among the treats for the fair visitors. More than 30 of Sanpete's San-pete's fastest horses will be seen in races, and it is announced that no outside out-side horses will be permitted to compete com-pete in the races. A big rodeo, staged by Sanpete county boys alone, will be one big sight. Sanpete county is the only county in the southern section of the state that has definitely announced announc-ed an exhibition, and as a result a big attendance is expected. |
