Show Annual Reunion Attracts Throngs The annual Scandinavian conference and reunion, held at Manti last Saturday Satur-day and Sunday, through the many activities and addresses, rounded out one of the most successful and one of the largest held for many years. Ideal weather conditions added to the happiness hap-piness and pleasure of those attending. attend-ing. Members of the organization Horn Salt Lake City, Salina, Gunnison Gunni-son and towns and communities in both Sevier and Sanpete counties, and from other counties, helped to swell the crowd. The temple city, where the annual reunion and convention were held, gave the visitors a royal welcome and nothing went undone to make the visit one long to be remembered. Ample accomodations were afforded in housing hous-ing and furnishing food, and this feature fea-ture proved enjoyable for the visitors. President Heber J. Grant of the L. D. S. church, and Andrew Jensen, church historian, were among the principal speakers from Salt Lake City. Both dignitaries gave splendid talks, President Grant speaking in the English tongue, while Mr. Jensen spoke in the Scandinavian language. An abundance of approprate musical numbers and talks by other than the high church officials, afforded a fine program. E. L. Swalberg, well known Gunnison vocalist, was on the program pro-gram for a musical number, singing a duet with Jas. C. Jensen of Salina. Among those attending from Gunnison Gun-nison were Mr. and Mrs. Marius Jensen Jen-sen and Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Swalberg. |
