Daniel T. Ross, the father, and Mrs. Thora Burgess, a sister from Los Angeles, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Buchanan Wednesday. Clarence King Ross died at a Salt Lake hospital Saturday of last week, following a severe attack of heart trouble, from which he had been; subject sub-ject to for several years past. For the past four years he had been timekeeper time-keeper for the Hercules Powder company com-pany at Bacchus. He only recently returned re-turned from Los Angeles, where he had gone in the hopes of getting relief. Clarence, as he was affectionately known here, started a printing career in The News office in 1923. His health at the time, however, would not permit the confinement, and after spending the winter months at printing, print-ing, he resigned to seek a position that would give plenty of out-door work. He and Mrs. Ross resided here about a year and won the friendship of many of the citizens of Gunnison. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Anna Mae Plant Ross; one son, Robert Ro-bert Ross, both of Bacchus; his father, fa-ther, Daniel T. Ross, and stepmother; four brothers, Culbert and Grant Ross, all of Joseph; Lester Ross, Lehi; and Rollo Ross, -Gunnison; and four sisters, sis-ters, Mrs. Alta Alger, Provo; Mrs. Thora Burges, Los Angeles; Mrs. Royal Roy-al Buchanan and Mrs. Ruby Mills, Gunnison. Funeral services were held at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon in the Ensign L. D. S. chapel, with Bishop Gordon T. Hyde officiating. A large group of intimate in-timate friends and relatives attended the services, and with the words of comfort spoken to those bereft, the solemn and appropriate musical program, pro-gram, together with a profusion of beautiful floral offerings, the last rites for the loved one were deeply impressive. Burial took place at the City cemetery in Salt Lake. |
