Show Lamb Campaign To BeState-WideAffair While the nation and Utah are working out plans for the recovery of prosperity by adopting NRA codes, there could be no better plan than to direct your attention and lend an unfaltering un-faltering hand to the annual Lamb Campaign, which is being sponsored by the Utah State Woolgrowers association. asso-ciation. The campaign will start September Sep-tember 8th, and will run continuously until the close on September 10th. The object of the campaign, according to the announcement of high officials of the association, is to increase the consumption con-sumption of lamb, and to convert the people of the state and nation as a whole to the value of lamb as part of the diet. .Former "lamb campaigns" in Utah have gone over with big successes, suc-cesses, and hundreds of people were taught that lamb for diet was equal, if not superior, to any other meat produced in the state. The lamb campaign is highly important im-portant to Utah, and to urge more consumption has been the aim of the association, as it helps to keep the flocks down, when they can be. better raised and developed into prime stock for butchering. Whenever the people of Utah use lamb they get the commodity com-modity and the money remains in the state, whereas with many other products pro-ducts consumed they get the article but send the money out of the state, which does not return. A great amount of good can be accomplished ac-complished in Utah if the citizens use, wherever possible, local commodities which do not require the transfer of money outside of the state. Loyalty to our flockmasters, who have felt the sting of the long-drawn depression, can be shown if all will make it a point to specialize on lamb as a diet and cook it in hundreds of appetizing ways during the period of "Lamb Campaign," beginning September Sep-tember 8 and closing September 16. |
