Show Centerfieldian j Called By Death! ! Mrs. J. M. Christensen, a resident of Centerfield for the past eight years, died at her home last Monday 1 evening, following a lingering illness, j About a year ago Mrs. Christensen : was stricken with dropsy. Complications Compli-cations followed and her health gradually grad-ually failed and she answered the final call. The deceased was born in Denmark, Den-mark, October 8, 18GG. On April 25th, 1883, she was married to J. M. Christensen and in 1907, she with her husband and family, left their native hearth and went to Sackat-chewan, Sackat-chewan, Canada, remaining their for some ten years. It was in 1917 that the Christensens went to Centerfield, i and that city had been her home until she was called by death. Mrs. Chris-1 tensen was a devoted wife and mother and was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was a member of the Lutheran church, having hav-ing embraced that faith when a young woman. She is survived by her husband, three sons, August, who lives in Denmark, and Carl and Marinus of Centerfield; and two daughters, Mrs. Sofus Christensen of Centerfield, and Mrs. Sigurd Swanson of Saskatchewan, Saskat-chewan, Canada. Impressive funeral services were held yesterday afternoon for Mjrs. Christensen at the Centerfield meeting meet-ing house, Bishop Hansen having arrangements ar-rangements in charge. Invocation was offered by A. C. Fjeldsted and following the opening by the choir, "Resting Now from Care and Sorrow," Sor-row," was sang. Other musical numbers num-bers during the services were "I Need Thee Every Hour" and "Through Deepening Trials." G. G. Christiansen, H. C. Jensen and Jens Beck were the principal speakers. The splendid character of the deceased was stressed in the addresses, ad-dresses, and she was praised for her kindly acts, devotion to her family and friends and the extreme generosity gener-osity and kindness for those in want during sickness and trouble. f ollowing tne Deneaicxion Dy ooren Anderson the remains were taken to the Centerfield cemetery and tenderly tender-ly laid to the final resting1 place. Many beautiful floral offerings were made by friends and relatives, the grave being banked with, the emblems em-blems of love and affection. |
