Show i National Issues Speakers' Theme H. L. Mulliner of Manti and Joseph Ride, of Salt Lake City, and John A.. Hougaard of Manti, were the principal prin-cipal speakers at the Democratic rally at the Relief society hall last ' Saturday evening. Hon. Frank Francis, candidate for Congress on ' the democratic ticket, was scheduled to make an address during the evening, eve-ning, but due to the fact that he was , unable to make connections there was much disappointment 0.' B. Berg- und, precinct chairman, had charge of the meeting and introduced the several speakers. H. L. Mulliner, who dwelt at length on the national issues, gave a splendid splen-did address and brought forth much applause. He spoke of the present administration's policy and deplored the conditions that have resulted by continued depression. Joe Ririe followed and advocated a change in the state administration. He praised George Dern, democratic candidate for governor and encouraged encour-aged those present by declaring Mr. Dern would be elected. John Hougaard of Manti made a few remarks and praised the nominees nomin-ees on the county democratic ticket. Notwithstanding the fact that the attendance at-tendance was small owing to lack of properly advertising, enthusiasm was at a high pitch and the visitors were well received. |
