Show Manti Pioneer Is ' ' Called to Reward Andrew Oliver Peterson, father of Adolph Peterson, of this city, died his home in Manti last Sunday night following an attack of pneumonia. Mr. Peterson was stricken with the dread disease during the middle of last week, and although everything known to medical science was resorted re-sorted to, efforts were of no avail and the early settler passed to I lie great beyond. Andrew Peterson had been a resident resi-dent of Manti for forty-five years and he was known throughout the southern part of the state as one of the many good citizens. He was born in Herat ed, Thested county, Denmark, in 1S52. In 1S77 he came to the United States, settling at Manti, Man-ti, where he had resided up to the time of his death. He joined the L. D. S. church before coming to this country and he has been constant and faithful in his belief. Besides the widow, Mrs. Anna Peterson, the deceased is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Anna Peterson Pet-erson of Moab, Mrs. Peter A. Poul-son Poul-son of Manti, and Mrs. Edgar Cox, of this city; four sons, Andrew O. Peterson and Amo.s Peterson of Mc-Grath, Mc-Grath, Alberta, Canada, and Adolph and Alvin Peterson of Gunnison. Funeral services will be held next Sunday, Burial has been postponed until the sons from Canada can ar-iivo ar-iivo to attend the services. Andrew Peterson was well-known in Gunnison, being a frequent visitor visit-or here. He has many friends here who will grieve with the widow and children in the sudden calling. |
