Show Services Held For j Centerfield Pioneer Conterl'ield, Feb. 23. Funeral ; services were held from the meeting 'house last Sunday at 2:30 over the .remains of Christian l'eler Hansen. t Mr. Hansen passed away at his 'home on February 15, following a stroke of apploplexy from which be ! suffered for more than two weeks. When he was stricken, his daughter, Mrs. Dave Sorenson, went to the i home and administered with care and loving hands in the hopes that jlhis life might be prolonged, but without avail and he passed peaio-fully peaio-fully to the other world. Services for Mr. Hansen were conducted con-ducted by Hishop Soren Anderson, while the singing was tinder the di- rection of Gilbert Fjcldsfed. The ) choir sang "Oh, Mv Father," and '"Shall We Meet Beyond the River." A solo, "Face to Face," was feelingly feel-ingly rendered by Mrs. Eva Jensen. Invocation was offered by Hans C. Jensen and the speakers were Jens Beck, Andrew Jensen and A. C. Fjeldsted. Chris. A. Peterson offered of-fered the benediction. Following the services at the meeting house the remains re-mains were taken to the Gunnison cemetery and placed beside those of , his wife. Deceased was born in Denmark, May 12, 1841. Mr. Hansen bad been a resident of Centerfield for 4 7 years and he was well and favorably known throughout the valley. He is survived by a step son, Henry Jen-! Jen-! sen, of Axtell, his own son, Peter i Hansen, now a resident of Oregon, and three daughters, Mrs. Charley I Jensen, of Axtell, Mrs. Dave Soreu- son, of Centerfield, and Mrs. Charles Shiner, of Price. All were present at the funeral. Jesse Christ ensen, of tin's place, and Miss Stella M. Sandstorm, of Spring City, were married Wednesday Wednes-day of last week. The evening of the wedding day a reception was tendered the newlyweds at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cliristensen. Mrs. A. W. Sandstorm, mother to the bride, was among the outside guests present at the reception. Mr. and Mrs. Cliristensen Cliris-tensen have hosts of warm friends who will wish them a happy voyage on the matrimonial sea. They will make their home in Centerfield. The Centerfield Farm Bureau lias been reorganized and Chris. A. Peterson Pet-erson has been chosen as president to j serve for that ensuing year. Charles j O. Hansen, has been elected vice-' president; B. 11. Jensen and L. M. ; Larsen, executive committee; Chas. E. Einpley, . scc'y-treas. Chris. Sor-ensen Sor-ensen was named by the officers to take up-the work on the sugar beet industry; D. B. Kunk was assigned the work on dairies, and Antone ! Christen.sen will have charge of the department on weed and poison pro-ject. pro-ject. A big. meeting is planned for this evening .at Centerfield and it is expected that further plans will be . made towards carrying out a sue-, cessful .administration during the coming year. The Old Folks Reunion held here on Thursday of last' week, proved one of the most successful ever held in Centerfield. More than 100 of the aged "kids" were present and from the openeing of the program until late at night, it was one joyous joy-ous round of pleasure. The several committees having the affair in hand were untiring in their efforts to make the reunion a success. The j festivities opened with a short program pro-gram and this was followed by an elaborate banquet at one o'clock. At five o'clock the old folks were the guests of the management of the Kinema at a picture show. After the show the guests gathered at the opera house and enjoyed dancing and another lunch. |
