Show By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 Two full time LDS missionaries mission-aries visited The Cannonville LDS Ward ward to speak. They were from Hungary and from the Ukraine. At the meeting Tammy Jessen and Cathy Fletcher were released as teachers teach-ers in the Relief Society and Kay Dunham and Melanie Ott were called to repleace them. Gloria Clark was sustained as ward historian. Dillon Mathews, Lace Walker and Cheri Moss were among many Bryce Valley High School Seniors who went to Seven Peaks Waterpark in Provo. They were winners of the Pride Trip last year. Chaperoning were John and Charlotte Mathews. Mel and Phyllis Beard had the unique opportunity to attend Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico for further Cub Scout training. They took a granddaughter grand-daughter Kalani Kau of Provo with them. Joe and Trish Thompson and children Daniel, Marshall, Rosa Lee and McKay attended an LDS missionary farewell for Daniel's special friend Collette Orme in Nephi. She will serve her mission in Chile. Last week, Cathy and Ryan Fletcher and AC and . Rita Hammer met their daughter and don-in-law Carol and Brett Poole and children Nic and Sara for lunch in Cedar City. The Pooles were on their way to Idaho for a final family visit and fishing before Nick leaves to serve an LDS mission in Chile. Arma Stock recently had a visit from her sister Nina Willden of Lynndyl. Tom Shakespeare, who is the superintendent at Kodachrome State Park, told me about a new stretch of road at the park that is being built. Construction began on Monday and will be contracted contract-ed by Western Rock in Cedar City. They will pave 13-mile length of road that leads to the Eagles View trail. He said this is something that they have needed for a long time. They are also getting a new water storage tank at Kodachrome. Larry and Glenna Fletcher went to St. George last Thursday for his doctor appointment. Afterward, they attended an LDS temple session with their parents Clement and Marie Broderick. On Friday, Glenna and Delon Fletcher went to Rockville and picked peaches. They visited Glenna's daughter Deniece Broderick in Hurricane and her uncle Robert Cox at the Cox home in Rockville and his wife Evelyn at the care center where she is recovering from pneumonia Several students from Cannonville have moved to Cedar City to attend school including Daniel Thompson, Kristin Gary, Jeremy Moss and Kam Twitchell. Cannonville's LDS Young Men and Young Women held their final combined activity last Tuesday evening. They went to the Pines Motel and went swimming swim-ming and had a barbecue, lots of fun for everyone. Jim and Erma Clarke had their daughter and son-in-law Joan and Lee Barney and sons Benjamin, Daniel, Joshua, Sam and Elijah visiting. They had been vacationing at Zion National Park and other scenic areas and stopped to visit several sever-al days before returning to Salt Lake City to start school. Dallas and Emilee Clark are the proud parents of a new baby boy named Westyn Dallas Clark. He was born Aug. 5 and weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and was 20 inches tall. The proud grandparents are Gary and Sandy Liston of St. Johns, Ariz, and Stephen and Verjean Clark of Cannonville. Emilee's parents par-ents and sisters Jennifer, Sharla and Kelsey got to came and stay for a new days - mom stayed for a few weeks to help out. |
