Show Trust Lands Parcel Auction A Garfield County 40-acre parcel of recreationalresidential land will be among more than 20 parcels being auctioned by the Utah School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration on Friday in Salt Lake City. The public auction will take place in the auditorium of the State Office Building behind the State Capitol at 10 a.m. Four others pieces are 40-acre parcels located on the north slope of the Uinta Mountains in Summit County. The Garfield County parcel is located on Johnson Bench near Bryce Canyon. Other offerings include 155 acres in Spanish Fork Canyon at the mouth of Covered Bridge Canyon, 40 acres near, Deer Creek Reservoir in Wasatch County, two acres of residential property in Highland, two 40-acre parcels near the Dewey Bridge on the Colorado River in Grand County, and two large tracts of mountain property in Morgan County. The revenue generated by land sales is put into permanent funds of Utah schools and other beneficiaries. The permanent funds are not spent, but are invested by the State Treasurer to provide perpetual payments to the beneficiaries. SITLA is an independent state agency which manages 3.7 million acres of Utah trust lands exclusively for the benefit of Utah's schools and other public institutions.
