Work is going forward on the old Gem theatre building which is being remodeled. The building was first the pioneer Myers and Henrie store. Elias Lyle Hatch bought it and made a show house of it. Then it became a pool hall, then back to being a show (movie) house which lasted until television came along. Barbara Leach and daughter Machelle went to Salt Lake City to keep a medical appointment for Machelle' s baby Makelle. Marjorie Davies and Caryl Englestead have been here from the far south but we don't know if it's a permanent stay or just a pre-move-home-for-the summer deal. George and Thora Proctor went to Salt Lake City to celebrate cele-brate her 80th birthday. The family fam-ily had planned a family dinner and party at the home of Hyrum and Colleen Proctor, where 75 family members attended. Of course gifts were plentiful and George and Thora were happy to see many of their family there. On the day after the Proctors returned re-turned home to Panguitch, their great-grandaughter Candi String-ham String-ham and six of her friends from BYU stopped by to visit and eat dinner on their way to see Bryce Canyon. Earl and Evelyn Roe, Kenneth Roe of Smithfield, Winona Sevy, Beverly Crosby, Aridith Davis of Orem, and Thais and Gene Griffin of Escalante all went to St. George on April 5 to attend a birthday party for one of the family's fam-ily's oldest aunts, Iris Sorenson, 83.
