Show Good Luck In The Battle Our organization pays tribute to Congressman Chris Cannon and his stand with Congressman Maurice Hinchey who is about to introduce HR1500 that would designate des-ignate 5.7 million acres of Bureau of Land Management lands in Utah as wilderness. If the wilderness wilder-ness issue is resolved it should be the people of Utah who resolve it not someone from out of state who hasn't even visited these wilderness wil-derness areas. Congressman Cannon was absolutely right in his debate with Mr. Hiney. This is Utah's business and it should be resolved by Utahns no matter how we feel about it. Congressman Hinchey says he has the support of the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance, therefore, there-fore, he has the support of Utah. That couldn't be further from the truth. In fact, the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance is made up of non-Utahns. Congratulations, Congressman Cannon. Good luck in the battle. As you might know we've all been battling this issue for twenty years. Met Johnson Executive Director Western States Coalition |
