Some of the visitors over Thanksgiving weekend were: Wayne and Lorine Pollock, Thousand Thou-sand Oaks, Calif., visiting the Neal Listons and Dan and Sherri Meisenbach, Orange, Calif., here to see Land and Geraldine Liston. Geraldine certainly enjoyed her new little granddaughter Katelyn. Dave and Raylene Whitefield, Las Vegas, Nev., came up to visit Arnold and Deon Alvey; Judy Brooks, Silt, Colo., came to visit her parents Melvina and Margie Costanzo; aand the Ron Griffins were here from California to check on their home in Upper Valley. Geraldene Johnson is slowly recovering re-covering from her fall and subsequent subse-quent hip surgery. She is currently convalescing with her mother, the former Nina Riley, in St. George. Bill Bowmar has returned from the hospital in Panguitch and is eager to get back into his shop. A Christmas cantata will be performed per-formed at the LDS Stake Center Sunday, Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. under the direction of Thelma Cottanv Verjean and Carolyn Porter reported re-ported good roads both ways as they traveled over to Cedar City to have Thanksgiving dinner with daughter Virginia Davenport and son Klint Porter. Geraldine Liston reports a successful suc-cessful annual LDS Christmas dinner din-ner at the Relief Society. Everyone is welcome to join those at the Escalante First Baptist Church on Dec. 15 for a Christmas potluck luncheon immediately following fol-lowing regular services which begin at 10 a.m.services. "It was wall-to-wall people," say Hal and Geneal Shurtz of their Thanksgiving dinner. They traveled to the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Mike Harper, in Pleasant Grove. There, they were joined by Shawn and Stephanie Jack, Logan and Kary and Mike Shurtz, Sandy and on Friday, by Brent and Galeen Nielson, Richfield. Hal and Geneal then went on to Salt Lake City and rendered ren-dered a musical number at the funeral fu-neral services for Idon Black. Idon was 93. She was born and reared in Escalante where she remained until her young adult years. |
