Show Sub For Santa In Escalante ESCALANTE Escalante's "Sub For Santa" campaign under the direction of George and Kay Miller is receiving positive response re-sponse throughout the county. Due to the closing of the sawmill and other factors, some 20 families in Escalante have been selected to receive Christmas Christ-mas deliveries later this month. Merchants have pledged their support shoes from S&C Merc in Panguitch and new toys and other items from Wal-Mart in Cedar City and from others. Wal-Mart has presented the Millers Mil-lers with a check for more than $1,000 from a fund raising sale held there in late November. Marge Boyer, whose hobby is repairing dolls, expressed thanks to all who donated dolls, stuffed toys, and materials for repairs. She is hoping to have at least 40 gently used toys to add to the Christmas gifts. Marge, who lives at the Padre Motel, will still appreciate additional donations dona-tions of dolls. The hardworking Millers and others who have given of their time and energy to make the campaign cam-paign successful say it's not too late to support the "Giving Until It Feels Good" endeavor. The Millers may be reached at (801) 826-4395. Checks made payable to "Escalante Elementary School Student Council" may be mailed to P.O. Box 248, Escalante, Esca-lante, Utah 84726. |
