Show By Mamie Talbot 676-8984 The storms of the past week have helped wet the valley and some farmers are starting to use the early water run-off for irrigating to hasten this hears alfalfa crop. A large flight of seagulls crossed the valley so we assume there is a body of ice-free water somewhere close. It's amazing how so often we don't see any changes then one day we look around and there they are. Happily, he big oil tanks that have long been on Main Street across from the Sands Motel are gone, a good thing, since they weren't very pretty. Jim Wilcock came home from Southern Utah University and picked up his grandmother Norma Talbot and took her to Price to stay with Hal and Roma Wilcock for a week. While there, the family went to Provo to attend the competition of the Utah South Division of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Jim Wilcock took first place in his division. He is a talented tal-ented singer. A number of town women are donating and quilting quills for the building of the extended care unit that is to be started this summer at the local hospital. The old Guy and Elba Schow house has been tom down. We hear that Evalcll Schow is going to have a new home built there. Pam Jarman is moving to St. George. She is to start a new job there on April 4. We will miss Pam. Ted and Shirley Chidcstcr made a trip to San Francisco. Shirley said she had been looking forward to attending at-tending a performance of "The Phantom of the Opera" there. Others Oth-ers that attended were Allen and Jcanie Henric, Julie Chidcstcr, Maria Chidcstcr, and Earl and Lola Hcnrie. Mary Coon underwent major surgery at Dixie Regional Medical Center. She is out now and is staying with her sister Fuclda Reeves in Hurricane for awhile. Mablc Harris, Irene Cooper and Karla Owens went down to visit with Mary and they say she is getting get-ting along well but don't know when she will be home. Mary's daughter Linda Blake from the north came down and was with Mary for the surgery. Mable has Mary's address for those who would like to write to her. Freda Talbot, Loretta Lindord, Chad and Michelle Black, Jason and Heather Miller, Roger and Arda Cox and Kevin and Mcladcan Carter went to Tropic to attend the reception of Freda's grandson Brayton Talbot, son of the Doug Talbots. The folks who bought the Bart and Jackie Reynolds home are here from Las Vegas. The Lynn Sagers bought the Dan Tebbs home. Lynn works at Bryce Canyon. Dick and Virginia Miller Gibbcney brought her mother Myra Miller home from the north. Myra is with Lucile Bridges for awhile. The family is cleaning out Del and Myra's home and will put it up for sale. Mark Munson was ordained a Deacon and Steven Fischer received re-ceived his Eagle Scout award in the Panguitch LDS Third Ward on Sunday. Maria Chidcstcr and Casey Hulet were the youth speakers in sacrament meeting on Sunday. Jean Orton of the Stake Primary and Kenny Miller of the Stake High Council were the visiting speakers. |
