I Panguitch High School held its -Ocicnce Fair, Thursday, Mar. 17, co-sponsored by UP&L. Winners traveling to region this week were 6th PANGUITCH Panguitch High School students in grades 6, 7 and 9 held their annual Science Fair in conjunction with the UP&L electric contest theme Mar. 17 at the high school gym. Two UP & L engineers, several former teachers and hospital staff members composed the panel that judged the 68 projects entered in the contest.. First place winners for each grade, Garrett McCullough and Scott Walsh; 9th grade, Heath Hatch and Eric Sawyer and 7th grade Paul Hulet and Casey McCullough. 6th9 7th, 9th Grade Young Scientists Named Winners At PHS Science Fair grade were Heath Hatch and Eric Sawyer (9lh grade) for their project on "Measuring Electrical Appliances;" Appli-ances;" Paul Hulet and Casey McCullough (7th grade) for their project "Efficiency of Light Bulbs;" and Garrett McCullough and Scott Walsh (6lh grade) for their project on a "Non-Chemical Battery" Each winner received a certificate from UP&L The student winners took their projects to the Regional Science Fair for the Scenic Southwest Area competition on Tuesday at the Sevier Valley Applied Technolgy Center, Richfield. PHS science teacher Mala Hcnrie coordinated the fair and said she was very proud of the participation from students. |
