Show By Ella Adair 679-8648 The winds and cold temperatures tempera-tures this past week made us think that spring had no intention of coming com-ing to our area. Shingles off roofs, broken limbs from trees, trees uprooted, up-rooted, garbage cans found in other areas - the wind had a merry good time - but, we still have hopes for a beautiful spring in the near future. The "old timer says" - don't give up - we always survive. Glenna Pollock joined her daughters Jolene, Darlene and Hazel and sons Garnell and Royce and all their spouses on a motor home trip to Seattle, Wash. There they met son Dee and wife Cheryl and attended the LDS Temple together. to-gether. The group of Bryce Valley High School students and their parents returned home from Mexico tired but happy for their experiences and the chance to use their Spanish in a country where it is the language of the people. Esther Heaton and Delilah Heaton of Alton were with family and relatives attending the funeral for Zora Bell Pollock. The Larvin Pollocks enjoyed a short three-day visit from daughter and son-in-law Maureen and Ron Rcid from Denver, Colo. Mary Ann Bybee visited with the Clive Bybces. LaRene Munson gave the lesson for the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Pi-oneers meeting on Monday after- noon. Ella Adair gave the history. June Shakespear read the group the information that will be placed on the historical marker at the Loseeville Cemetery by the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Shirley Haycock was in St. George Ge-orge for medical care. Mary Ott is in Salt Lake City and Gene Chynoweth is in a hospital in Las Vegas, Nev. both for medical care. Mae Chynoweth also had surgery on her shoulder in St. George. George and Nell Wilson spent the week in St. George attending the LDS Temple. Several Tropic LDS ward members attended the temple on Saturday for their temple day. The E.R. Shakespears attended the open house for granddaughter Heidi Hepworth, recently married in Salt Lake City. The Wade Pollocks have moved back to Tropic. Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Mecham visited with their daughters Sherrie and Shaunna in Cedar City. Their son Scott is the new pharmacist in the hospital at St. George and is moving there with his family. Larry Adair and Ron Guymon visited with Ella Adair. The MonDell Syrett, Dan Haskell and Ron Harris families were recent visitors to Disneyland. Ellen and Fred Hall visited with Marie and Johnny Niemann and Minnie Nielson. There were many family members mem-bers from out-of-town attending the wedding of Stonnie Pollock and Francine Fullmer in the St. George Temple last Saturday. The reception recep-tion was held that same evening in the Tropic LDS Ward Cultural Hall. The program in LDS Sacrament meeting was put on by members of the Teachers Quorum.. Talks were given by Bret Tucker, Chad Seiler, Jeremy Bybee, Joey Shakespear, Jason Bybee, Cody Brinkerhoff, Clinton Brinherhoff, Slate Stewart, and Tyler Fcltner. Brook Bybee and Levi LeFevre were baptized into the LDS Church and Brandon Johnson was ordained a priest. Mr. and Mrs. Larvin Pollock, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Pollock, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Pollock, Marian Allen, and Mr. and Mrs. Malcn Mecham attended the Manti LDS Temple with Christine Pollock. It had been 61 years since Malen had been there. Don't forget to sign up ahead of time if want to go with the senior citizens to Cove Fort. The deadline is Wednesday, Apr. 6. |
