Show Helpful Community editor, On May 7 after driving through Bryce Canyon National Park with our travel trailer, we stopped at Tod's Truck Stop in Panguitch to buy gasoline. Immediately afterward, we noticed smoke coming from our trailer and pulled quickly away from the gasoline tanks. Our trailer was on fire and your volunteer fire department was called in to help. Many of your citizens dashed in to bring many of our personal things out of the burning, smoke-filled trailer. Due to their fast work, we were able to salvage many personal things, even though the trailer itself was a total loss. Although we were insured, our loss was considerable and would have been much greater had it not been for the assistance of your fire department volunteers and others who wasted no time or effort to help us, Among those whose names we recall are Jon at Tod's Truck Stop; your mayor, Jon Torgerson; and Garfield County Deputy Sheriff Bruce Heywood. Our deep appreciation and heartfelt thanks to all. Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. Kissinger Denver, Colorado |
