Show Local Rodeo Affiliates With Utah Group Tom Simkins, owner of Color Coutnry Rodeo held during the spring and summer months at Best Western Rubys Irm near Bryce Canyon announced this week his new affiliation with the Eastern Utah Rodeo Association. Color Country Rodeo opened Memorial Day weekend for its fourth season at the popular resort and until this year has operated as an open rodeo. His new move to affiliate with the organization is expected to provide bigger and better rodeos, he said. Riders who earn the highest dollar amount in their particular event during this year's season will be awarded a saddle at the end of the season. The EURA also offers Individually contracted rodeos throughout the state during the season which means more cowboys and more competition, Simkins said. Scheduled three nights a week on Wednesady, Friday and Saturday, the rodeo provides visiting tourists a taste of the " real west." Many have never seen a rodeo before and consider it a memorable experience in their lives. Foreign visitors especially enjoy the event which they feel typifies the western United States. The rodeo also provides an opportunity for local enthusiasts to compete. Entries must be registered each week by calling 768-9028. Rough stock entries are taken 7-8 p.m. and timed event entries are taken from 8-9 p.m. Color Country Rodeo features local radio announcer Tom Hatch, rodeo clown Jim Whitely and his wonder dog Cinders and country western singer Ken Hoyt. Season passes are available at reduced rates with family season passes available. Additional information may be obtained from Simkins in Panguitch. vtUitKMttttnSKuKB BIBBlBBBBBkBBBBBBBBHRs,sf Wfeft8MJBBBBBBBra O NBBf f MB0BBL2S2l jJHMHmpB -"MHBjBEkLr I Pround of the newly remodeled and carpeted en-tryway in the Hatch DUP museum are several citizens who spearheaded facility renovation.
