Show The entire junior class at Escalante High School received a trophy and one day outing to St. George as winners of this year's school Pride contest. It was held to promote better school spirit. EHS Junior Winner Of Pride Contest ; ESCALANTE The junior class at Escalante High School was , selected as winner of the 1983-84 ' Pride Contest held annually at the high school to promote school pride and spirit. The contest commences at the start of the school year and continues throughout the year culminating in the awarding of a trophy to the winner in May. Selection is made on a point system with six criteria involved. (1) academics based on the class ; with the highest grade point average, (2) the most successful major class project designed to improve the school facility, (3) the most successful community service project, (4) the class that supports school activities most successfully, (5) the highest cumulative dally attendance, and, (6) response to special school dress-up day. The junior class will receive a trophy and a one-day class trip to a destination of their choice. This year's winning juniors chose a trip to St. George to see prominent LDS historical sites. |
