Show Panguitch Patter Hazel Houston Jed and Verda Cooper received word their son, Dr. J. Arthur Cooper of Denton, Tex., has been selected by North Texas State University administration as one of two faculty members to represent North Texas State at the national cbnference on higher education. Their grandson, Chris Cooper, has been called as assistant to the president of the England London East Mission. With his companion he will supervise the training and proselyting of all the missionaries and serve as a representive of the mission president. Robin and Richie Barton are the parents of a baby girl born in February. She weighed 8 lbs. 12 oz. Grandparents are Doris and Kenneth Leslie, Panguitch, and Laurel and Beatrice. Barton of Tropic. Great grandmother is Dellis LeFevre, Panguitch. Lloyd and Suzanne Frandsen are the parents of twin girls, born March 7. They weighed 6 lbs. 3 oz. and 7 lbs. 5 oz. Grandparents are Margaret and Lawrence Frandsen, Panguitch, and Ray and Shirley Holt, Sandy. Nina Hatch went to St. George to be at the blessing of Jim and Torla Boucher's new baby. Alan Worthen, his wife Deanna, and their son, Rick were here last week. He was sent here from Payson to officiate the ball game between Hurricane and Mt. Pleasant. They visited Alan's brother and sister while there. Fay Ella Prince and daughter, Mary Ella Sudweeks of Circlcville, are home after a three day vacation in North Hollywood with Fay Ella's sister, the G. L. Reeds, and in Yorba Linda with Mary Ella's son, Mike. While there, they visited Forest Lawn Cemetery, and went to a taping of the Lawrence Welk Show. (Look for -them on April 4.) Then they, along with DeLoa Reed, flew to Hawaii where they spent 12 days at Laie and attended the Inauguration of J. Elliot Cameron as president of BYU Hawaii. They had a breakfast before the ceremonies. After they went on tours of the campus, farms, temple, and a show at the Polynesian Cultural Center. They attended an area conference where both President and Sister Kimball were speakers. There were 5700 in attendance. Then they went to Waikiki where they saw many points of interest. Mat and Hazel Houston spent a weekend in St. George with Herb and Norine Allen. They have a home in Bloomington. They had dinner at Pine Valley, and saw all the new developments in the St. George area. Frank and Mary Worthen of Price were recent visitors at the home of Bill and Sara Worthen. Bernard and Beth Henrie spent a couple of days in Mequite with Bernard's brothers, Champ and Keith, and their wives. They spent one day at Little Palm Springs and Overton. They also visited in St. George. Leonard and Vera Wilcox went to California. They stayed with Wallace and Dorotha McEwen on their way in Las Vegas. Daughter Ira Lou and Mike Richardson in Grover City, Calif, then visited with Thelma and Ken Barron, Roy and Ethel Schow, Arth Lynn, Neil and Barta Lynn Nepote, Duncan Mc-Calab, Roy's son Butch, also daughter Pat and family. They stayed with Garth and Dorothy Cameron in Las Vegas on their return and then one night in Cedar City with son Roy, The only time they got lost was in Las Vegas on their way home. Pat and Ileta Dix, Ileta's mother Velma Huntington of Hatch, granddaughters Kristy and April Barabas, were in Washington. They attended the blessing of their granddaughter Toni Mae Dix who was blessed by Garn Huntington. Ileta's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dix were also in a ttendance. Nida Moffitt of Salt Lake City, was here visiting her folks, Brent and Joann Orton for the weekend. |
