Show Young son of Zions ISank branch manager, John Seaman, pulling out the winning ticket in drawing for television won by Sharon Swindall Zions Bank Opens New Panguitch Facility Official grand opening for Zions First National Bank was held March 11 at the bank's new facility on Center Street in Panguitch. Day long festivities failed to be dampened by on again off again blustery weather and more than 800 people examined the new building, enjoyed refrerhments, and competed for prizes. The first 250 people to visit were each given a four foot measuring stick, with helium filled balloons for the children Winner of the grand prize, a 19 inch portable Panasonic color television set was Sharon Swindall, Panguitch. In a penny-guessing contest, two happy youngsters rode off a 10-speed bicycles which was open to all youth between two and 14. Trenton Fagg, Hatch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Fagg won the boy's bicycle and Michelle Mostr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Moser, Panguitch, won the girl's bicycle. John Seaman, bank manager, served as master of ceremonies and welcomed bank officials from Salt Lake City, and local dignitaries. Present were Roy W. Simmons, chairman of the board, Zions First National; John Langeland, president; Dale Westergard, executive vice-president Angus Belliston, senior vice president and division manager; and Tony Romney, regional manager. Mayor Wallace Lee welcomed the bank representatives each of whom spoke briefly, thanking the public for their support and noting the growth that was anticipated for the Garfield County area. Panguitch LDS Stake president Laural Holman offered a dedicatory prayer. Zion's president John Langeland presented a $1,000 check to the Panguitch First Ward Relief Society president June Davis. The ladies organization had prepared refreshments for the day long activities. Seaman stated that he is grateful for the modern new facility which affords him and his employees a comfortable and pleasant place to work. He noted that the bank now has a night depository, three lane drive up windows, a conference room, employee lounge, beautiful landscaping, and best of all, "wonderful people to work with." |
