Show KM'alnnte MIA Girls Attend Summer Camp Seventeen girls from the Escalante Utah Stake, accompanied by the stake MIA president Norma Chlarson, enjoyed a three day back pack trip as part of the MIA program of the LDS Church. The girls walked 17 miles, carrying their own supplies in back packs, from Cooks Ranch, circling through Bryce Canyon via the Hat Shop and Death Hollow, down Yellow Creek into Can-nonville. On the trip many survival methods were learned and used by the group. A greater appreciation for the beauty and grandeur, and a better knowledge of Bryce Canyon was gained. Girls making the trip were: Cynthia Johnson and Patsy Willis from Cannonville, Brenda Jolley from Orem, Mary Ann and KayLynn Bybee, Cristy, Joann and Gwen Shakespear, LaRue Mecham, Sandra and Laurie LeFevre, Donna Brinkerhoff, Lynette Sudweeks, Laraine Barton and Marian Pollock, from Tropic. Norma Chlarson was their leader. |
