Dall Winn, examine 348 rainbow trout seized from three anglers at Fish Lake. This case constitutes the largest overlimit of fish in recent memory. Following a tip from an employee of the U.S. Forest Service, officers Cliff Helms and Brent Olson made a routine license check of fishermen at the fish cleaning station near Doctor Creek campground. Suspi-sions led them to check the camp of a party of three nonresident fishermen where they located the overlimit of 348 fish. As the legal daily bag and possession limit for trout in Utah is eight fish per licensed adult angler, each of the defendants was charged with the possesion of 116 fish or 108 fish apiece over the legal limit. These figures equal legal limits for 43' adult anglers. |
