Show Mr. and Mrs. Alton K. Talbot Talbot to Celebrate 50th Anniversary The children of Mr. and Mrs Alton H. Talbot, Granger, are hosting an open house in honor of their parents 50th wedding anniversary. It will be held June 10 at the Granger 9th, 15th LDS Ward chapel at 2835 South and 2855 West, Granger, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The couple requests no gifts They were married June 5, 1928 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple and are former Panguitch residents. They lived in Panguitch 30 years and Mr Talbot played his fiddle, mandolin and guitar for dances. He ran silent movies in Panguitch when there was only one machine and it had to be turned by hand. He has also farmed and worked with sheep and cattle. Mrs. Talbot, the former Leona Elizabeth Excell, worked in the school lunch program several years and also as a cook at the Flying "M" Cafe. In 1958 the couple moved to Salt Lake City and were dorm parents at 1 Steven's Heneger College. Mr. Talbot later worked at the Holy Cross Hospital and Mrs. Talbot i- worked at Deseret 1 Pharmaceutical Co. Both have been active in the LDS Church Mr. Talbot served a mission in 1926 in the Southern states and California. He has conducted ward choirs, served as elders quorum president, YMMIA president, Sunday School superintendent, ward clerk and has taught in priesthood and Sunday School. He is ward music chairman and choir leader in the Granger 15th Ward. Mrs. Talbot has been primary president, stake board and message teacher in the Granger 15th Ward Relief Society. They moved to Granger in 1972. They have four children; Mrs. Evelyn Dalley, Granger; Mrs. Carl L. (Reva) Fish, Fairbanks, Alaska; Mrs. Doyle (Melba! Raven, Kearns and Mrs. Waldo (Ethelane) Lewis, Granger. They have 13 grandchildren and 12 great - grandchildren. |
