Earl Curran, monument superintendent, said the visitor center will open at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 27. Hours during May 27 to June 3 will be 8 a.m. to 4:45p.m. June 4 through Labor Day the visitor center will be open 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Utah Department of Transportation snow removal crews are working to have the road through the monument to Brian Head and Panguitch Lake open by Friday. Curran pointed out, however, that the snowpack is above normal, and snow plowing has been unusually difficult and the Friday opening date may have to be extended Monument officials have tentatively set June 17 as the opening date for the campground Further information can be obtained by writing or calling the Superin tendent.
