Show Citizens' Corner The Mlowtng poem wm written and sent into be used in the Cltitens Corner by Oarth C. Workman. Sunnyvale, Calif H SKKKINO FOR A SIGN " f The mountain rMng from the valley doer Is massive and majestic to the eye. From craggy peaks I watch the eagle sear, Diminutive when matched against the sky. The snow capped top presides above the rest Its skirt edge spangled with its silvery streams. God's handiwork is viewed while at its best Unfetted by mans wasteful banal schemes. I knelt upon the mountains massive crest And asked, "Oh Lord please give me a sign, My troubled mind will never give me rest Until I understand your great design." With eyes raised skyward, looking out to find A vision to reveal Gods master plan, I cried out in my agony of mind An echo crying back the voice of man. A startled deer bounds swiftly into view All symmetry and grace with head held high. The squirrels and blue jays voices scolding too. The horned owl fluffs and looks prepared to fly The great pines reaching upward to the sky Are giants, small against the mountains form, The breeze is stirring whispering like a sigh, Prophetic voice which tells of coming storm. Big fluffy clouds float slowly into view Combined then joined again against the side. Large droplets form with lightnings thunder too As clouds and up thrust mountain peaks collide. A tiny trickle starts from falling rain Abetted by the streams from melting snow, To form a creek when merged then merged again And serve the thirsty valleys far below. The valleys and the plains are dressed in green With checkerboard of brown and golden squares, i The fields of hay, of grain, of cm n, is seen Nurtured by the loving one who cares. Then all at once my blinded eyes could see J&A As right before me God's creations shine, jy&iZ He didn't change a single thing for me ftf Just helped me see his handiwork divine. ALcpS |
