Show Indian Folklore Themes Boiilc.er-Escnlante Cubs BOUIDER The Boulder-Escalante Cub Scout troop held their monthly pack meet In Boulder. Theme for the month was Indian folklore and customs. The meet started with a trip to the Anasazi Indian Village where Larry Davis, Utah State Park archeologist gave the group an excellent presentation on early settlers in the Boulder area The early settlers were not the first white men sent by the mormon church as might be expected, but rather a whole city of Anasazi Indians inhabitated the area long before any white men came to the twon of Boulder Mr. Davis showed the boys where the early town existed and told the boys how the early red settlers lived and worshipped. The group then went to the Boulder Church where they put on skits and sang and danced to the beat of Indian Tom-Toms. The boys were presented awards for accomplishments In following the Cub Scout Trail by Cub Master Charles Orrett. After the meeting Mr. Orrett thanked all who have supported the Cub Scout program and especially those who have participated In the paper drive. Cub Scout Christmas activities Include Christmas carroling to awaken the spirit of Christmas in the Community. |
