Show Training Sessions Set For ETM Volunteers The Southwestern Utah District Health Department in cooperation with the Utah State Division of Health will be presenting a series of three training courses for Emergency Medical Technicians. These will probably be held on weekends between mid-January and early April in St. George, Kanab and Cedar City. Instruction will again be provided by qualifed EMT instructors from the District and from Northern Utah as well as Dr. David Trafton, Medical Director of the District Health Department and other community physicians. . An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is a nonmedical person with training and experience beyond first-aid who is able to provide paramedical assistance to persons who are ill or injured during the period that qualified medical care is not available. Ambulance attendants and rescue personnel are examples. Information about eligibility and applications can be obtained from any office of the Southwestern Utah District Health Department.
