Armstrong, the original contractor for the construction ot the Hajedos Chal-' Chal-' eurs railway, w as examin-d. lie gave a history of how the company was formed. The witness refused to say what he had done with the moneys arising from discounting letters of credit. The amount thus raised reached $175,(100. lie said he paid the money out as soon as received, hut would not say to whom. When asked if he had given it to l'acand he refused to answer.
