musicians the Federal Concert orchestra is proving of benefit to adult education classes and also Is giving instruction and entertainment to students of the public schools be- fore whom the group Is making frequent appearances During the past two months the orchestra has played eight engagements at public schools five for adult classes Reginald Beales as well as having given eight concerts at the capitol building during the Utah Art institute and W P A art exhibition It has also appeared in concerts at Barratt hall and the Veterans’ hospital The orchestra la also scheduled to give two concerts the coming week playing at the Murray high school Friday at 11 a m and at the Riverton high school at 8 p m the same day A program is to be given at the Roosevelt high school on April 16 at 11 a m A tour of the state is being planned for the orchestra by Mr Beales and Mack Nicolaysen assistant state director of W P A work and as in other states throughout the country this federal music project bids fair to become a definite influence for cul- tural development In his remarks to the students in connection with the concert appearances Mr Beales makes them acquainted with the instruments of
