Show Page 6 The Ogden Valley news Volume XXIII Issue XI July 1, 2016 Announcements Obituaries Ramona Hansen Webb April 29, 1931 ~ June 15, 2016 Our loving wife, mother, #1 grandma, and sister passed away peacefully June 15, 2016. Ramona was born April 29, 1931 Ramona Webb in Ogden, Utah to Nora Rosabell (Mortensen) and Henry Ralph Hansen; she was raised in Huntsville, Utah where she lived until moving to Ogden in 1980. She was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission to Sao Paulo Brazil. She was a faithful serving member of the Mount Lewis 3rd Ward. She enjoyed serving others. Above all, her family was her life. Ramona married Donald Sterrell Webb on September 2, 1972; their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She retired as an accountant from United Savings and Loan. Ramona is survived by her daughter Rozlinda (Joel) Nerdahl; her son Scott D. (Paula) Webb; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Ralph H. (Helen) Hansen of Huntsville. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. Interment in the Huntsville City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at <www.myers-mortuary.com> Veda Judkins Ferguson September 9, 1921 ~ June 10, 2016 Our mom Veda Judkins Ferguson passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home Veda Ferguson in Huntsville on June 10, 2016 at the age of 94. She was born September 9, 1921 to LeRoy and Luella Judkins and grew up in Ogden and North Ogden, graduating from Weber High School. Mom had four younger siblings— Dean, Eunice, Shirley, and Margaret—who all left this world before she did. On December 6, 1941 she married Verl Jackson Ferguson. They settled in Ogden and had five children: Verla (Bill) Austin, St. George, UT; Barbara (Ron) Mau, Lompoc, CA; SannDee (Kent) Lindquist, Ogden; Pat (Steve) Songer, Huntsville, UT; and Michael (Lynda) Ferguson, (both deceased). Mom was a wonderful mother, meticulous housekeeper, excellent seamstress, and a great Dona was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and faithfully served December 7, 1928 ~ June in the Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women’s auxiliaries. Tom has four children: Marc Smith of Ogden; Katie (Travis) Dodge of Saint Anthony, Idaho; Bridget Smith (Tyrel) of Afton, Wyoming; and Mandee Smith of Saint Anthony, Idaho; and five grandkids. She had seemingly endless energy. And you could not have found anyone with a more positive attitude than our mom. She had a quick wit and a grateful heart. Mom was a champion golfer; she was the Ogden City Ladies Champion nine times and the Ogden Golf & Country Club Champion thirteen times with several other prestigious titles to her name. Everyone enjoyed playing with her because she was so fun, talented, and gracious. Mom loved music. It seemed she remembered every song she had ever heard. A mere mention of a word or phrase would often cause her to burst into song. She also loved to dance. Living with Mom was like living in a musical! She had a special love for children. Her face would light up whenever she saw them. And her 20 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren all adored her. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Leavitt’s Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, Utah. Interment at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park. The grandkids were never surprised by his joking antics, and making up words such as “eleventy seven” or “twelvety twelve.” Tom worked at Arrow Dynamics for over 20 years designing and building roller coasters. He then continued his expertise at Hill Air Force Base doing Composite Flight Repair. If anything needed fixed everyone knew they could call Tom. Tom was so loved and well respected by all his co-workers over the years. Tom’s passion was being outdoors and doing anything in the mountains, from snowmobiling to riding the Commander. He rode snowmobiles for the majority of his life and knew Monte Cristo like the back of his hand. He was a great contributor to Search and Rescue and loved hunting, fishing, and exploring. He was an expert survivalist and was at his happiest when he was teaching and sharing his knowledge with kids and grandkids. Tom was everyone’s go-to person and will be dearly missed by so many. Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Lois Smith, and little brother, David Smith. He was an amazing and kind husband, father, grandfather and friend who was always willing to help anyone. Tom made lasting impressions with everyone he met. He is now free to “Ride On.” Funeral services were held Friday, June 17, 2016 at Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 N.
