Letters to the Editor Community & Local Business Thanked for Support of Area Youth On June 4, youth from the Wolf Creek LDS Ward were able to have a very successful fundraiser with the help of Grant Weller, owner of Eden’s Washworks car wash. We would like to thank Grant/Washworks car wash for the generosity that was extended. Our youth wanted to do a car wash for their annual fundraiser, and Grant made it happen. The kids worked hard washing and drying cars, cleaning windows, and vacuuming for over four hours that day. They also made available snow cones and some yummy treats that were sold to generous buyers! The money the youth raised is being used to help pay for scout camp, girls’ camp, and other activities the youth have planned for the year. We love how supportive businesses are in the Valley, helping our youth in many ways. Thanks, also, to those in the community, and to those just passing by, who stopped in to support these great kids; we couldn’t have done it without you! So now, let’s support Washworks—a business owned by great local people helping our community kids! Melanie Shaw, Eden Pictured right are youth from the Wolf Creek Ward. ACCIDENT cont. from page 1 her passenger were uninjured after they were broadsided by the motorcycle near the frontseat passenger-side door. It is estimated that the motorcycle was traveling between 45 to 60 miles per hour when it collided with the car at full speed; there was no evidence that the motorcyclist had time to brake. According to Talbot, the driver of the motorcycle was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. His passenger was transported by life flight helicopter and, at last report, was still in critical condition. While the investigation is ongoing, and charges or citations are still pending, Talbot stated that initial evidence didn’t indicate that the driver of the car was impaired in any way at the time of the accident. She reported to investigators that she just didn’t see the motorcycle. |
