Residence halls currently have a 186 student capacity. Due to enrollment growth, more housing is needed. y The new dorm will contain 12 units consisting of two bedrooms and a bathroom. Two students will live in each room, so the dorm will house 48 students. There will be holes and dirt two-stor- non-cooki- promised Development Dean Karen Bliss Miller. A loan CEU has secured will cover the cost of materials. Labor will come from CEU, and the work force will to keep the costs down. Construction will be done during the summer and the building should be ready by fall. Miller said it is not uncommon to have a summer project like this. In past summers, Sessions Hall was reno- include faculty members. Robert Torgerson, vice president of instruction at CEU, will oversee construction. Also, the Student Construction Trade Program will enable students to help with the project. The cost of the new dorm is about $200,000, which is half the usual price, Miller said. The donated labor is helping vated and the cafeteria remodeled. Miller said Director of Development Mary Shaw is working with a private foundation seeking a substantial gift, which, if received, would allow CEU to provide housing scholarships for the new dorm.
