Show Sunday Herold Sunday, February 8B 1970 i, WisfaH Arm Broadens CCs Service Program The Women's Division of the Frovo Chamber of Coinmerce promotes and coordinates civic improvement and community-wid- e cultural and art projects. It also surveys public issues and problems which affect the women of the community, their families, and homes, and disseminates information to the division and others interested. Women of the division in 1969 were actively engaged in public meetings to consider drug and health programs, evaluate sex education proposals, and deal with other problems of public interest. Miss Prove They conducted the annual Miss Provo contest in which many of the city's loveliest girts competed. After becoming Mislh Schofield went . At the homecoming for the Headquarters Company of the 259th Quartermaster Battalion, consisting of men from Utah County, after a year in Vietnam, the women served refreshments and otherwise at the award ceremony. With monthly board meetings and quarterly general meetings, nearly 80 members participate in the Women's Divis'on which is open to any intested jvomen. Officers, Board Mrs. Frank A (Phyllis) Van Wagenen was president in 1969. Other officers were Lillian Hatch, first vice president; Mary Rogers, seevnd vice president; Ann L. Spears, secretary-treasure- r: and Miu-ieHeal, historian. The board of drec-! tors held 10 meetings during the yecr. The division furnished the decorations for both the banquet last August and the Chamber of Commerce annual banquet Jan, 30, AND CONGRATULATIONS 1970. Those letters are the initials of the words, education, business, and industry. And the idea behind the program is to get the three factions together and examine the programs of each.
