OFF SEASON WINTER 3A Vichi Powell Weds New Dinnerware Goes Geometric i Your All Sunday Herald e p. OF 1970 When the news leaked out that the Empress Josephine took a bath every day. there was almost as much excitement among the French as when our astronauts landed on the moon. Ladies of the royal bedchamber spoke in hushed whispers about changes of lingerie three times a day to say nothing of frequent ablutions with soap and water between baths. Josephine may have been something of a fanatic on the subject of bathing. But it must be remembered that Napoleon refused to tolerate perfumes, and something had to be done to offset such a great disadvantage in those days. It is said that the Empress devoted three hours a day to her toilette, washing Cordless Carpet m silver tubs and basins.
