"But i-K we realized not everyone who wants the benefit of all-wheel drive needs or wants a station .( i wagon. So we decided to apply the Brighton concept to a low--,;! cost yet attractive coupe. By in-; in-; i eluding an AMFM cassette 'stereo and air conditioning we believe we put together an affordable affor-dable package that is safe, fun and comfortable to drive." ' The Subaru Impreza Outback Out-back brings a different type of fun to driving. Equipped with two-tone paint the all-wheel ' drive Impreza Outback has a roof rack, splash guards and a rear bumper cover. The splash guards and bumper cover com- - bine to add protection in areas prone to abuse from gravel roads and from the wear and tear as- ' sociated with carrying cargo. ' Hooks are also provided in the cargo area to help tie down objects ob-jects used in the pursuit of outdoor out-door fun or the more mundane ' chores of every-day life. About 350 lower-income Utah families will have the opportunity op-portunity to become home owners. Today the Utah Hous-ing Hous-ing Finance Agency's (UHFA) board of directors approved the release of $25 million of mortgage funds that will make home ownership affordable for families with modest income. The 7.25 fixed interest rate mortgage money is now available avail-able to Utah's low- and moderate-income, first-time home buyers, many of whom may find home ownership less expensive than renting an apartment. Because affording the down payment and closing costs is the biggest obstacle for first-time home buyers, UHFA's 7.25 mortgage loans offer zero discount points, greatly reducing reduc-ing the down payment and closing clos-ing costs required of UHFA home buyers. Down payment assistance as-sistance is also available to households earning below $25,000 annually. : UHFA will target the $25 million in mortgage funds to lower-income, first-time home buyers across the state. Prospective Prospec-tive buyers may qualify for these monies providing their income and the cost of the home they want to buy is below certain limits. Limits vary from county to county across the state depending on the size of the household and the location of the home purchased. Many Utah households are currently paying considerably more than $600 a month in rent, and unlike a mortgage payment, their rent may steadily rise in the future. Currently, UHFA's average household income served is about $27,000 annual-ly-however, many households earn much less. As a general example, UHFA's new 7.25 mortgage interest in-terest rate allows a household earning approximately $24,000 annually to purchase a $70,000 home with a monthly mortgage payment of approximately $590. UHFA's mortgage rate is nearly one full percentage point below . conventional rates and many allow many ' households to qualify for home ownership who would not otherwise. UHFA is also offering down payment assistance for very low-income home buyers. Under UHFA's CHAMP program, a portion of UHFA's $25 million in mortgage funds will be contributed con-tributed toward down payment and closing cost requirements for very low-income home buyers; this set aside portion of UHFA funds may completely eliminate a down payment contribution con-tribution by the home buyer, making home ownership possible pos-sible for many first-time home buyers for the first time in their lives. The UHFA down payment contribution is available to first-time first-time home buyers with a household income below approximately ap-proximately $27,500 annually; and is included within a mortgage loan having a slightly higher interest rate. UHFA's low interest rates make buying a home more affordable affor-dable than renting in many cases, and home ownership through UHFA allows families to control their housing costs by enabling them to escape the spiral of ever rising rent rates. UHFA Executive Director, William Wil-liam H. Erickson said, "this in-'-crredjibly low rate will make the key difference in allowing many" lower-income Utahns to purchase pur-chase their first home. Those interested in-terested should act quickly because be-cause these low rate mortgage funds will not last long." Application information can be obtained by calling UHFA 359-5200. Long distance callers may dial toll free (800)301-6950. Equipped with a standard roof racfc. the Subaru Impreza Outback is ready for the greater outdoors or a more perilous (perhaps) (per-haps) trip to the super market. Dual airbags, three-point shoulder belts, and side impact protection which meets the 1997 federal side impact standard are all found on the, Impreza Outback. Out-back. Four-channel anti-lock brakes and four-wheel discs combine with the Subaru All-Wheel All-Wheel Driving System to ensure traction and maneuverability in the Impreza Outback when going and stopping no matter what Mother Nature has to offer. The 2.2L boxer engine continues con-tinues to be a part of the Impreza line. In 1996 the 2.2L engine is now available with a five-speed manual transmission and. except ex-cept for Brighton, is standai d on all all-wheel drive Impreza. Other changes to the Impreza range include the availability of power locks and mirrors in L, LX and Outback and power windows win-dows for Outback and LX. Impreza is able to offer the flexibility of on-road driving fun and "off-road" type driving fun without any changes to its basic platform. This is accomplished in part by developing the platform plat-form through years of a most torturous type of racing called rallying, a form of motorsports where road conditions can go from bad to worse. The World Rally Championship Champion-ship series is one of two international interna-tional series sanctioned by the FIA (Federation Internationale de l'Automobile). And it's the only international series for production-based cars in the world. Largely run in Europe and in the southern Pacific region rally racing is a test of endurance for both man and machine. From rally racing Subaru Sub-aru is able to apply what they learn directly to the cars sold in a Subaru dealership. Systems like the Subaru All-Wheel All-Wheel Driving System, the foui -wheel independent suspension with negative scrub radius, vehicle handling and ride quality, and the endurance of the Subaru boxer engines is a direct result of vy, at was learned through this grueling type of motorsports. This is also why the Subaru Impreza keeps getting recognition recogni-tion from its owners and con-; sumer publications for having the lowest complaint ratios in the automotive industry. Its race proven technology combines com-bines with manufacturing excellence excel-lence to give its owners a rewarding ownership experience. ex-perience. Subaru and the Subaru Impreza Im-preza WRC Team are a winning combination. Halfway through the 1995 season the Subaru Impreza Im-preza has won three out of the five rallies which have run posting post-ing wins in France, Portugal and New Zealand. Impreza and the rest of the 1996 Subaru line up - including the Legacy and SVX - are available avail-able from the more than (570 Subaru dealers nationwide. All Subaru vehicles feature comprehensive com-prehensive warranty coverage including a three-year or 36,000-mile basic warranty, a five-year or 60,000-mile powertrain warranty and a five-year five-year unlimited-mileage rust-perforation rust-perforation warranty.
