Show The Park Record D Section B Contributions from Park City Kids Thursday, April 8, 1993 D Page BIO INCIDENT AT STEAMBOAT SPRINGS by Jimmy Martin, Grade 8 At 5:30 a.m. my phone began to ring, waking me from a sound sleep. On the other end of the line was the irritating voice of Capt. Slogaf from the 21st Precinct. He said he needed me at the station, it was urgent. So I got out of bed, quickly dressed and jumped on my 1 100 cc Kawalski Ninja Bullet Bike and raced down to the station. Slogaf informed me that Henry Knove, the guy who swore he'd kill me as soon as he got out of prison, had just escaped. Fearing that he would come looking for me, Slogaf insisted that I go on a vacation to the steep slopes of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I grabbed my top secret suitcase and then I caught the first flight out of O'Hare to Steamboat Springs. As soon as I got there, I was escorted to my Ferrari Testerosa with a hyperdrive 12 cylinder turbo booster. After checking into my room I decided to join the crazies on the slopes. I got into my top secret suitcase and pulled out my Northface ski suit with many gadgets secretly hidden within the linings. I rented ski equipment and headed for the toughest run on the mountain. As I got to the top of the lift, I saw beautiful blue sky and a big sign saying "Double Black Diamond - Massacre Shaft" with an arrow pointing to the left. I headed towards it. When I got there, I took off immediately, skiing through Winners to be announced In April 16 Edition! Aae Categories: Up to 5 years 5.9 years 9-12 years One entry per person. What I didn't know was that Henry Knove was close on my tail, he had apparently followed me from O'hare and was an expert skier. My secret radar informed me there was a person skiing very close. I asked my computer to do an identification search and the information I received was that it was Henry Knove. I don't think he knew I knew it was him so I took off into the trees in order to set up a little surprise of my own. Out of my secret compartment of my Northface suit, I pulled a small mirror and directed it toward the sunlight. As soon as Knove would come over the ridge, the sun would hit his eyes and he would lose sight and run blindly into the forest ' which would most likely cause him to hit one of the many trees. I headed back to my lodge to i prepare my next surprise for Knove just in case he escaped my first surprise. I set up surveillance . cameras in my suite so that if anyone was to enter, I would know immediately. Sure enough, Knove tried again. This time I was ready! I had my top secret stun gun aimed and ready. It could knock out an elephant at 100 yards. As soon as he was in range, I fired; unfortunately, he dodged the shot This meant he was good, really good! He fired a nine mm and I ducked and the bullet shattered a large plate glass window in my room. I then rolled on the floor, missing another shot and at the same time, getting a good shot off at him. I hit him in the lower leg, knocking him flat on his face. He started to crawl toward his gun !flgffia..eLEnra which laid about 10 feet away. As he reached for it, I dove for the gun. Unfortunately, the gun went off. I didn't know who was hit but I felt a tingle in my stomach. I looked down and blood was heavily pouring out I knew I had to stop the bleeding but first I had to stop Knove. I grabbed a vase that was sitting on the coffee table and brought it down on his head. Then I grabbed several towels and pushed against my stomach to slow down the bleeding. The shots had brought the security guard to my room who quickly entered and saw what was happening. He called for an ambulance and the local police. Knove is now behind bars once again and I am lying in a hospital bed checking out all the good looking nurses. The murderer looked like an average 30-year-old business man. His name was Michael Bennett. Michael Bennett would ask his clients over to his house to talk about business with them. If they did not like his ideas about a business deal, Michael would kill them. Because they thought his ideas were lame. Michael Bennett would then go back to work saying the client loved his ideas. He was able to cover up his actions without anyone knowing what was happening for years. Until one day, one of the neighbors saw an ice pick being lodged into one of the victims. The neighbor immediately called the police. to the Park Record Michael did not have time to clean up after his murder before the police arrived. When the police arrived they just barged in and said, "You're under arrest for the murder of William Blinn." 1 The judge sentenced Michael Bennett to a lifetime sentence. Ten years later, Michael applied for parole, it was granted because of good behavior. Michael returned to his house to see what type of condition it was in. Except for all the dust and ' cobwebs, it was o.k. The blood ' 1 ,: stain on the rug was still there. The first thing he started to clean up ' was the blood stain. It was starting to get late so he decided to go to sleep. . - He woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. When he opened the bedroom door, he saw one of his victims sitting at the table looking at some papers. As he got closer the ghost said, "I don't think this is a good idea." He -looked at the victim again and saw blood running down and the victim disappeared. He looked down at the floor and the blood stain was back, bigger and fresh. The blood stain kept on getting-oigger and bigger. When it hit his toes, his toes began to melt. He looked down at the blood and saw all the faces of his victims laughing at him. Their hands reached up and grabbed Michael and pulled him into the blood. The blood then melted the rest of his body. ' The next day his parole officer came over to Michael Bennett house. The officer knocked on the door. The door just swung open and fell off. He saw the blood stain and went over to it The he bent down and looked at it. All of a : sudden he saw this big bubble come up. The parole officer jumped up faster than you could say "Jack Robinson." After the bubble exploded he saw Michael Bennett's head had melted in the puddle of blood, then sink down into the blood puddle. Then the blood turned into words saying, "There are more bodies buried in the back." The message , disappeared into the rug. The officer lifted the carpet and there was no sign of blood on the cold . hardwoodJobrl jjj U Continued on B11 1 Sl' Spring Snowmobiling from $55 per day Guided tours and rentals Recreation Ventures 647-7723 Great insurance plans are right under your nose.
