Despite the cold con-. con-. ditions, both boy's and girl's teams turned in some very fast times. That team was made up of senior Allissa Huf-faker, Huf-faker, freshman Sarah Duncan, junior Lindsay Bailey, and junior Natalie Young. All four girls had success in the individual events also, with Huffak-er Huffak-er taking second in the 100m hurdles and qualifying qualify-ing for state. Duncan was second in the 100m and also running a state qualifying time, and Young took second in the 200m. Stephanie Christensen also had a good day in taking second in the 3200m and qualifying qualify-ing for state; she also had a sixth place finish in the 1600m. Invite Hadlock, senior Caitlin Mecham, and junior Meg-gie Meg-gie Savage placed third in that event. Leading the way for the boys was the 4x100m relay re-lay team of senior Brady Gatewood, senior Cameron Cam-eron Comer, sophomore Jeff Brammer, and senior Spencer Whitaker. They also won the event in a new school record time of 42.90 seconds. Whitaker also won the 200m with a time of 23.14 in pre-lims and 23.40 in finals, and Gatewood was second in the 100m and qualified for state also with a time of 11.44. Gary Hatch placed fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:05.43. Both the boy's and the girl's teams took 5th place. Their families were impressed im-pressed to see how well they performed after learning learn-ing a dance after only two weeks. The performance went exceptionally well and was very fun.
