The President is now allowing warrantless warrant-less seizes and searches, torture, and many other unconstitutional activities. He also is suspending habeas ha-beas corpus, our right to face criminal accusations in a court of law. The feds also plan to merge the United States with Mexico and Canada into a sovereignty-destroying regional government with open borders called the North American Union (NAU) by 2010. Go to www. thenewamerican.com for NAU details. Americans need to demand that the feds obey our Constitution now, or we soon will be governed by officials we did not elect, just like the European Union is today. Springville g Homs:Mon-Fril(SaH(M pa Pick it up and clean it up It makes me crazy to drive down the street or along the freeway and see so much garbage all over the place! Who is throwing all this stuff out of their vehicles? ve-hicles? Is there no respect for our place of living? I noticed on the Springville police report this week that a man was cited for throwing things out of his car. Good. It is about time. Go up to the high school and see how much garbage lines the west fence between the parking lot and the ball diamonds. It is disgraceful. Are the students to blame for all of this garbage? I'm sure the high school has waste cans around the school and outside. Students, Stu-dents, please use them. Please don't throw your fast food wrappers and cups around our community. Would you throw them on the floor of your home?. They say that children imitate adults. Did these young people who are littering first see their parents throwing things all over? I understand that they have something called "detention" "de-tention" at the high school for kids who are late for class. What would be wrong with taking those young people out and cleaning up the school grounds? The freeway west of Springville looks like the approach ap-proach to the garbage dump! Who is doing this? Does it come from uncovered loads going to the transfer station or from the many garbage trucks going to the landfill west of here? Or is it all coming from people driving past and throwing out their stuff? We are soon going to spend millions of dollars on 400 South and the new bridges and freeway interchange. inter-change. It will be planted and beautified when it is done. Are we going to take care of it, or will it just end up looking like it does today? We are known as the "Art City." We need to live up to that name. I understand that in France they place outdoor sculptures along the highways. They are not elaborate or expensive art works, just colorful, indestructible cement pieces. What an idea for our community. We already have the Sculptures to Live By Program. We could take it a step further and place sculptures along our new 400 South and at the freeway interchange, I love to drive under the underpass on south Main Street where it goes on to Spanish Fork. It has been landscaped and is beautiful It is also clean. A member or our community takes it upon himself to keep it that way. He volunteers. We could aJK volunteer to keep our own areas clean and anywhere we go. When we see refuse, we could pick it up. I see older people walking in the morning with a plastic bag to fill with garbage they see along their path. Good for them! I have been teased for sweeping the gutter in front of my home. Why not keep that part of my area clean? Everyone could do that. - Springville City is planning a clean-up day April 12. They are even going to provide dumpsters for citizens citi-zens to put their trash in. Now is the time to clean up our areas. Take pride in our community. Do you have weeds growing in your gutters and sidewalks? Get rid of them. When you see trash littering the city streets, paper, cans, bottles and other garbage, pick it up. Sweep up. Clean up. Be a good citizea Make this the Art City!" W. 400 North, Springville, was cited for open con-, con-, tainer of alcohol.
