It is now second largest in the state. Looking forward into 1911 the outlook for UTAH COUNTY promises to be one of the greatest for growth and prosperity. DEER CREEK DAM- The $10,000,000 Door Creek project, largest reclamation project undertaken under-taken in the State of Utah, will be of untold benefit to the people of Utah, Salt Lake, Wasatch and Summit counties, more than half the total population popula-tion of the state. The project, now under construction, will soon be completed, bringing supplemental, "on demand" irrigation water supplies for 100,000 acres to the farmers, but augmented culinary water to the cities and towns, as vell. Utah County, the leading fruit growing section of the state, is in a fine position to develop its productive capacity by advantageously utilizing the storage water from the project and incidentally gain valuable additional recreational facilities. NATIONAL DEFENSE- . ... .- i . ... .. UTAH COUNTY stands ready to do her part on national defense. Lehi, Pleasant Grove, Spanish Fork, Payson and Provo have National Guard units. Payson and Spanish Fork have Armory's and Provo and Spanish Fork have airports. Camp Williams will accommodate 5,000 men. The new gigantic $500,000 Illinois Powder Plant, located at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon, is now ready to begin operation. AGRICULTURE & INDUSTRY UTAH COUNTY ranks first in the production of apples, producing 40 of the state's total output. It is first in pears, with G5 of the state's total crop. It is first in plums and strawberries. It ranks second in poultry and poultry products; second in dairying, second in mining, third in manufacturing, and fifth in the production of wool and lambs, and produces a large share of the beef cattle of the state.
