Show Water activities appeal to all ages Rodeo... Discover Dptosaurland Wednesday, June 26, 1991 9 The Uintah Basin offers unique water activities for young and old alike. They are all located within a short driving distance from Vernal. Steinaker and Red Fleet Reservoirs offer some of the best water skiing in the Uintah Basin. Both are equipped with loading docks and are easily accessible. There are also picnic and camping grounds for those who want to spend time skiing, swimming or fishing. Red Fleet also has cliffs that people are able to jump from. Many children and adults enjoy this recreation because the cliffs slope vary from low to high. The most popular is across the water from the docks. It is a long swim and boats or life-jackets are advisable. Also in Vernal, are the water slides. The Aquanoodle is located on East Highway 40. The also features a miniature golf coarse. The Naples Hydrosaurus Waterslide is located in Naples City Park, just off East Hwy. 40. These are good places to cool off and have fun. The Uintah District Swimming Pool is an Olympic sized indoor pool. It is equipped with showers and lockers and is opened to the public. Utah laws require life jackets to be worn at all times when in boats and in the water at the lakes or rivers.
