Confusion over Utah trout stamp The Utah Wildlife Board rescinded the trout stamp under the new wildlife license fee structure effective April 29. But for many trout enthusiasts, en-thusiasts, the controversial stamp isn't history just yet. Anglers across the state are apparently ap-parently confused by the recent change in fishing license fees. Some have received tickets for fishing without a trout stamp on licenses purchased pur-chased before April 29, when the new license fees went into effect. Anglers buying the new $18 fishing license will not need the trout stamp, but those who bought licenses for $10.50 under the old fee structure (prior to April 29) must have a trout stamp to fish for trout through the remainder re-mainder of 1985. Trout stamps may be purchased at most sporting goods stores and all Division of Wildlife Resources offices throughout the state. They also hope to encourage new riders to participate and to not be discouraged by the presence of experienced ex-perienced riders. Many times youth are reluctant to start racing because they do not think they have a chance to win. Participation In BMX racing is open to both boys and girls in the community. This year, two girls have signed up to race and the local association Is encouraging more girls to participate. Several of the youth who raced last year will be return to track. In addition to the clinic Friday evening, Encinas witl also be available at Western Auto In Vernal until 6 p.m., Friday, and at the race Saturday morning. Youth in Uintah County have scheduled their first race for Saturday at 10:30 a.m., but racing has already gotten undtTway in Koosevcll, Parents in the local association are planning several improvements for the track during the coming season to entice the public out to the track.
