The nightclub closed its doors in mid-April and has remained dark since. Konstantine Deslis. owner of Creative Marketing Group - the independent company that has booked and promoted Harry Os shows for the past five years, assures Parkites that the club is not going out of business. He said the management simply decided to follow the lead of the resorts and other major businesses in Park City that close during the off-season. "This has been a tough year for a lot of people businesses in Park City and the spring just wasn't viable," he said. Harry O's will reopen on Friday, July 30, kicking off a series of summer shows and initiating a new drive to draw in local residents. "We took the off-season off and now we're coming back for what we're calling Harry O's Summer Sessions," Deslis said. Through the remainder of the summer, the club will offer a variety of live shows by local and national musicians on Friday nights and feature mash-up DJs from around the country on Saturday nights. Creative Marketing Group, which also produces events in Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, has partnered with Park City Concerts to collaborate on the overall marketing and promotion plan for Harry O's, Deslis said. The local group, headed by Toby Martin, will program the Friday shows. : Martin has worked with Harry O's in the past and notably brought Joaa Jett to the venue for a live performance during the 2010 Sundance Film Festival. "I have produced a number of great charity events [at Harry O's] for groups including Make-A-Wish, the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Utah and the Utah Avalanche Center," Martin said. "I have also seen soldout nights there with Yonder Mountain String Band and Matisyahu, and while our shows will not have big names, the music and the atmosphere will be very much a Park City vibe." One of the top priorities entering the new season is to make Harry O's more of a locals' hangout, Deslis said. CD release party for local band Swagger, and the fifth annual 80s party. Martin is planning an upcoming Bob Marley night with several reggae bands and a benefit for the gay community that will be produced in conjunction with QSaltLake magazine. "We have some really big live shows coming that we're hopefully going to announce in the next week or two," Deslis added. The club will post its fall hours in September, although Deslis said public events likely won't be scheduled on weeknights until the winter season. He said patrons can look forward to a remodel before ski season. "Our heart is in Park City and it's very important to us to reach out to local customers and make them understand that they have a second home at Harry O's," he said. For more information about upcoming events at Harry O's, go to www.harryos-pc. com, www.parkcitycon certs, org or ww. cmgonline.net. "What we really want to get back to is taking care of the locals and getting the live music that the locals are looking for. That's something I think you're going to see from us much more than you've seen in the past five years." That means hirinu local musicians as well as national acts, hosting ski film premieres going into the winter season and bring more atypical shows to the stage. The Summer Sessions start Friday with Cherry Bomb, a Joan Jett tribute band, and Park City's own Tres Hombres playing the music of ZZ Top. The following night is Harry O's fifth annual White Party, what Deslis calls "one of our most infamous and successful events." The bash will feature DJ Ravi Drums, who was recently featured on 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
