They are rebuilding a roughly 1,800-foot stretch of the road between Parkview Terrace and Aspen Drive. The rescue team was called to the Murdock Basin area at about 2:20 p.m. when a 15year-old boy fell about 200 feet down a steep ravine. "He lost his footing and slipped ... It wasn't a cliff, but it was steep incline," Bridge said. "His family couldn't get to him." After reaching the boy. searchers carried him to a medical helicopter, which was waiting up the hill. Bridge said. In a separate incident, a lost hiker spent the night in the woods after he was reported missing near Kings Peak Saturday at about 8:30 p.m. The man was in good condition when he was located at about 10 a.m. Sunday morning, according to Bridge. "We had phone contact with him the whole time," Bridge said. "He just didn't know where he was and we didn't know where he was." Nighttime temperatures dropped in the 40s, he said. The man from the Ogden area was horseback riding with family members in the Fire Canyon area east of Henefer when he was kicked at about 1:30 p.m. "Before our search and rescue could get to him he was extracted by an (air) ambulance and taken to the University of Utah," said Detective Ron Bridge, a spokesman for the Summit County Sheriff's Office.
