Brett Thomas Green died at the scene of the crash, according to Joseph Donnell, a Utah State Parks and Recreation ranger. A family member called 911, Donnell said. Green was riding on a gravel road when he lost control of the ATV at about 3:25 p.m., Donnell said. Donnell said the accident occurred about four miles from the Tollgate Canyon entrance near Interstate 80. "There were absolutely no witnesses to the accident. So we don't know what happened," he said in a telephone interview. "His stepson was with him but he was in front. His stepson actually went down the road and stopped at an intersection. When the victim didn't come to him he went back to the cabin and was at the cabin when they got a cell phone call from the victim." The victim suffered severe head injuries and a compound fracture to his leg. Donnell said. "When I got on scene he was alive and talking." Donnell said. "But his injuries were just too severe and he didn't survive." "He went off the right side of the road and sideswiped an aspen tree," Donnell said. "There was evidence of possibly alcohol, but we cannot stipulate whether or not that was a contributing factor." Green was not wearing a helmet. "We always recommend people wear helmets. Just wear it." Donnell said. "You cannot say whether or not the outcome would have been any different but it sure couldn't hurt." Drowning victim identified Witnesses say man was swimming without a life jacket By PATRICK PARKINSON Of the Record staff The body of a Murray man was recovered from about 15 feet of water Saturday afternoon after the 29-year-old drowned at East Canyon State Park in Morgan County. Witnesses said Raymond L. Behunin was swimming without a life jacket when he went below the surface on Saturday, according to Deena Loyola, a spokeswoman for Utah State Parks and Recreation. "Family members swam out to him, but were unable to locate him in deep water," Loyola said in a prepared statement. Behunin's body was locat- ed about 25 feet from the shore. Authorities in Morgan County requested help from the Summit County Sheriff's Office Saturday afternoon. "We were requested to deploy our search-and-rescue boat and submarine to East Canyon reservoir," said Detective Ron Bridge, a spokesman for the Summit County Sheriff's Office. "On our way there they located the deceased person in the water and we turned around and came back." The future of law enforcement? When you can ALWLYS GET A GREAT VALUE!
