Show MPJH students go to jail By RACHEL BASTIAN Student Reporter A group of Mueller Park Junior High students recently visited the young adult correction facility in Draper. Class officers, the peer leadership group and the head cheerleader visited the facility "to observe and to talk to some people in jail," said one student. "We were led into a large room. Five men who were in jail came to talk to us. Two were accused of first degree murder and the other three were there for robberies," rob-beries," explained the students. They were told almost all the people who were there started their bad record with drugs and alcohol. At the end of their presentation the students were advised to stay out of drugs and alcohol. ' 'Going to the jail was a great activity. ac-tivity. It helped us to see what it is like so we don't ever want to be there,' ' agreed the students. |
